INDIGO GIRLS GAVE A BENEFIT PERFORMANCE
FOR THE CRADDOCK CENTER

The Indigo Girls

IF YOUR GRANDCHILDREN ASK...
In the years to come, “Did Fred Craddock actually appear on stage with the Indigo Girls?” answer them gently (your answer may be more than young hearts can bear) but firmly (young minds deserve the truth), “yes, he did.” Do not elaborate; give them time to absorb your words. If they do begin to stir and enquire further, “what did he do up there?” just explain that he thanked Emily and Amy for their generous gift of the benefit concert, he thanked the huge crowd for coming, and then he explained the Craddock Center’s programs for Headstart children. If your grandchildren are still curious and ask, “Did the people there like what he said?” you tell them that they did; they were quiet, they listened, and they applauded the work of the Center. In fact, he and others from the Center were very encouraged by the evening.

The Benefit was March 1 in Athens, GA at the 40 Watt Club.

"Notional Women"
a one-woman play
Presented by Brenda Bynum
The various characters of Brenda Bynum

On Sunday, March 23, well known and popular Atlanta actress, Brenda Bynum, presented a one-woman play entitled “Notional Women”. The hour-long, one-woman performance was based on the lives of real Georgia women, presented in character, and in their own words. A “notional woman” is one who speaks her mind openly and behaves according to her own ideas without worrying about what anybody else thinks!

Proceeds from this event benefited the Music and Storytelling Programs sponsored by the Craddock Center for Gilmer and Fannin County Head Start and Pre-K children.
