APPALACHIAN WEEKEND 2004
Don
WestDon
was a native of the Burnt Mountain area of Gilmer County. He was a
Congregational minister, a poet, and a social activist who threw his life
into the struggles of the poor to be heard, to receive health services, to
be justly paid for their labor, and to be respected as American citizens
making contributions to our life together. (Excerpt from Milk and Honey,
March, 2004)
