Get Involved
There are lots of ways to get involved at the Craddock Center. Here are just a few of the many ways to contribute.
Donate
Thank you for helping us deliver “Happy & Hope.” Your donation in any amount counts! Everything we do for the children is a result of the generosity and support of our donors.
Volunteer
We have many gratifying opportunities for volunteers of all ages. Come help us deliver “happy and hope” to the children of southern Appalachia! You can help in our Bookroom, delivering books to the children, support special events, help with our furniture program, gardening and maintenance, making knitted hats and wooden toys.
Knit a Hat
Every year, we give away a new, hand-knitted hat to each of our preschoolers. Hats arrive at the Center from all corners, volunteers count and sort them, and come Winter, each child receives a lovingly made, unique hat to keep his head warm and his heart happy.
Build a Wooden Toy
Every year, we give a new, handmade wooden toy to each of our preschoolers. The toys are delivered to the children during the visit from Santa in December. The toys come to The Craddock Center from woodworking volunteers across the country.
Give Books
Three times a year The Craddock Center provides our children a brand-new book. Each child is able to pick out the book they want to read and love. Donations of new books or monetary donations to purchase new books are greatly appreciated. The Craddock Center also accepts contributions of gently loved used books. These books are also distributed and used for programs for those in need. For this reason, used books need to be clean, undamaged and in appealing condition.
Donate Furniture
Every day we receive calls from families in need of furniture and basic household items due to fire, mold, or crisis. Your donation matters! If you have any gently used household items, please contact our office at (706) 632-1772 to schedule a drop off time. Thank you for your support!
